Community events are popular everywhere you go. From fairs to readings, from community theater to walk/ runs, there is something for everyone. Not a month, a week, often not a day, goes by without something for us to do and see and participate in.
I recently read an article in the Milwaukee Journal about the deer herd and how hunters are no longer able to control the size of the herd as we lose 1.8 percent of hunters each year. Mostly due to the aging baby boomers who either pass on (I think of my Grandpa and my father-in-law) or are no longer able to hunt (my Dad).
On January 6, 2021, Daniel Rodriguez repeatedly drove a stun gun into the base of police officer Michael Fanone's skull, causing him to lose consciousness and suffer a heart attack. Rodriguez was sentenced to over 12 years in prison, and the judge called him “a one-man army of hate."
It was 21 degrees below zero the February morning Jerome’s son decided to enter this world. Jerome held his son and lovingly hugged his mother. Then he left so his wife could get some much-needed rest. On his way out the door he promised he would bring her some of her favorite chocolate when he returned.
