A View of the Valley Oct. 23, 2025

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but I saw a meme* on the internet about how to remove permanent marker from all sorts of things. Luckily enough, I happened to have permanent marker on several things in my home that weren’t supposed to have permanent marker.

The Cheshire Cat has a famous saying about us all being mad.

He was perhaps on to something.

When you really look at us humans, we are strange, fascinating creatures. There’s a reason why people watching exists as a hobby.

YOUR RIGHT TO KNOW: Costs shouldn’t be used to deter records requests

Mark Treinen. (Submitted photo)

I am not a big fan of bats but their current plight is frightening so I’m willing to learn how to do what I have to support them. International Bat Week (Oct. 24 though 31) is nearly upon us so it’s a good time to get familiar with bats and all they do for.

Letter: It can happen here

Having been raised with stories of Europe at the time of the Third Reich, I cannot ignore the similarities, happening here and now. Or the fact that the one comment heard in my childhood, was “that this would never happen here”. I always came back with, “Oh yes, it can”.
