Weston falls twice in boys basketball action

Weston lost the first game as part of a five-game home-stand in high school boys hoops against New Lisbon and were hoping for more success but the Silver Eagles fell twice over the weekend against De Soto and a strong Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah squad.

Beavers start dual meet season 6-0 on wrestling mat

It was a lot of action in a short amount of time this weekend for the Reedsburg Beaver wrestlers as the regular season got underway with a flourish for the varsity wrestlers, JV wrestlers and female wrestlers.

Heights girls off to fast start

Their last outing didn’t go according to plan. Overall, though, Wisconsin Heights’ girls basketball team is off to the kind of start coach Tyler Fuchs dreamed of. The Vanguards fell to visiting River Valley, 50-31, on Dec. 3. Overall, though, Heights is 3-1 and already just one win shy of matching its win total from last season.

Sauk Prairie hockey team wins a pair

Sauk Prairie’s co-op hockey team — which also includes players from Mount Horeb, Wisconsin Heights, Barneveld and River Valley — won a pair of games last week. The Eagles traveled to Beaver Dam and posted a 4-2 win on Dec. 3. And Sauk Prairie blanked visiting Baraboo/Portage, 5-0, on Dec. 6. The Eagles are now 2-3 on the young season.

Heights boys fall to Dodgeville in opener

There were moments of terrific basketball. Periods of sustained excellence. And if Wisconsin Heights’ boys basketball team can perform at that level for more than brief intervals, the Vanguards could surprise this winter.
