The week began with a loss at Pecatonica for the Weston Silver Eagle boys basketball team last Monday by a final score of 89-69 as the Silver Eagles fell to 1-6 overall with a sixth straight setback.

Ithaca/Weston wrestles well at Richland Center

The Ithaca/Weston wrestlers were among 17 squads competing in Saturday’s Richland Center Invitational to close out the pre-Christmas portion of the schedule. I/W had no individual champions but five wrestlers did earn top five finishes as I/W placed seventh overall in team scoring.

The lineup still isn’t at full strength yet for the Reedsburg Beaver wrestlers as a few individuals still have to get to their desired weight which may not happen until January but despite that fact, Reedsburg continues to perform well on the mat leading up to the New Year.

Beaver boys hoops will have nearly 2 full weeks between games

Reedsburg had only one game scheduled this past week in high school boys basketball action but that game was wiped out on Thursday as Edgewood at Reedsburg was postponed due to inclement weather with no make-up date announced.

Beaver gymnastics team gets underway with 2024-2025 season

The competition season is now off and running for the Reedsburg Beaver gymnastics squad after Friday’s season opening dual with Mount Horeb at RAHS. The Beavers posted some good scores, especially for an opening meet, but the Vikings won the dual with a mark of 136.050 compared to the Beavers at 124.975.

Badger Lightning girls hockey enjoys conference success

The Badger Lightning girls hockey co-op has broken into the win column for the first time in the conference season after a tense 1-0 win over the Stoughton Icebergs Friday night in Baraboo. The only goal of the night was scored by Haydee Meyer in the second period with assists for Reedsburg’s Ryleigh Bychinski along with Ashlynn Ballweg.

Happy holidays

The Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights wrestlers finished in third place at the 10-team Oshkosh West Invitational last Saturday. Host West won the invite, while Oconto Falls was second. Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights was third, while D.C. Everest and Ashwaubenon rounded out the top five. Here’s a recap of the Eagles’ day.

Sauk Prairie’s best of 2024

It was another stellar year for Sauk Prairie’s boys and girls sports teams, which created many highlights and lifetime memories during the 2024 calendar year. The Eagles were competitive in the new Badger South Conference with girls soccer and volleyball securing hard-fought conference titles.

RWD skaters fall to Monroe at RACA

For just the second time this season, the RWD boys hockey co-op went down to defeat on Friday night, dropping a 3-1 decision to Monroe in conference play at RACA in Reedsburg.
