Three Eagles named all-league

Sauk Prairie’s boys soccer team had a solid season, finishing in third place in the Badger Small Conference and reaching the sectional semifinals. And the Eagles were justly rewarded, placing three players on the all-conference team.

Four Eagles’ spikers named all-conference

Sauk Prairie’s girls volleyball team had a tremendous season. And the Eagles were rewarded by placing four players on the all-Badger Small Conference team. Junior Mallory Hartwig, and seniors Greta Shadewald and Gracyn Meyer were named first-team all-conference. Junior Alaina Kraemer was named honorable-mention all-conference.

Eagles’ runners named all-league

Cross country is different from other sports when it comes to all-conference recognition. There is no voting or lobbying by the coaches. It comes down to one race — the conference meet — that determines if you earn all-conference or not. Sauk Prairie’s runners shined at the Badger Small meet this year and earned spots on the all-conference team.

Heights spikers earn all-conference honors

Wisconsin Heights’ girls volleyball team had two players named all-Capitol South Conference. Junior Maya Luko and sophomore Sonja Severson were both named honorable-mention all-conference. “Both Maya and Sonja bring so much beyond their volleyball skills to the team,” Heights coach Katie Doescher said. “This is a well-deserved honor for them.”

Punt, pass and kick standouts

The statewide Punt, Pass & Kick Competition was held recently at the Wausau Newman High School in Wausau. The following individuals from Sauk Prairie participated, along with their final place in the competition: • Donovan Wuerger, first place — 11 year old boys’ division. • Stella Wuerger, second place — 10 year old girls’ division.

Reedsburg's Kylee Molitor set to join Wisconsin Badger softball team

In the over 40 years of Reedsburg Beaver softball, there have been many outstanding players that have stepped onto the diamond to represent the program extremely well. None of them, however, are believed to have earned a D-1 scholarship to play at the collegiate level but that is no longer the case.

Tracy Jennings to lead Weston Silver Eagle boys basketball


Tracy Jennings takes over as head coach this season for the Weston Silver Eagle boys basketball team after serving as an assistant coach last season. (Weston School District photo)

For the third straight season, the Weston Silver Eagles will have a new man at the helm of the boys basketball team, but it’s a familiar face leading the squad.

Tracy Jennings was an assistant under Head Coach Chris Meyer last season but moves into the number-one spot this season.
