Weston baseball looks to pair of key conference games this week

Last week began with a tough loss to swallow for the Weston Silver Eagle baseball squad in a 4-3 loss to Seneca Monday in Caz. Some misplays and mistakes helped Seneca jump out to a 4-0 lead by the middle of the game, but Weston rallied to within a run and had the bases loaded in the last of the seventh when the final out was recorded.

River Valley softball starts with 5 games this week

It may have been the best win of the year so far for the River Valley Blackhawks on the softball diamond last week on April 20 as R-V took down a traditional contender from Badger Small, Mount Horeb, by a score of 7-5.

Valley soccer remains unbeaten with 2 more conference wins

Not only have the state-ranked River Valley Blackhawks girls soccer team yet to suffer a defeat this season, they haven’t even allowed a goal as the 5-0 Blackhawks kept the shutout streak alive this past week with a 1-0 win over Platteville and a 6-0 win over Galena, Illinois, both conference victories as well.

A busy week began Tuesday last week for the Ithaca/Weston track and field program at the Lee Griffin Invite at Kickapoo High School. I/W placed sixth among 15 schools in the final boys team standings with Clayton Lee once again leading the way with a title in the 1600 at 4:40.57 while also placing third in the 3200 on Tuesday.

There is only one team that remains unbeaten in Badger Small baseball this spring and that is the Reedsburg Beavers who improved to 5-0 in league play with a pair of lopsided wins over the Portage Warriors this past week.

Beaver softball edges Sauk for 1st conference win

It was an important week for Reedsburg Beaver softball with three conference games, and the Beavers did gain a much-needed win over Sauk-Prairie but fell in contests against Fort Atkinson and Stoughton.
