Coach Andy Gesteland wanted to see how the Beaver Boys Tennis team stacked up against some top-flight competition this past weekend as the Beavers faced four quality opponents in a two-day event in Waukesha. For the most part, the Beavers graded out well with wins in three of the five duals on Friday and Saturday.
Ithaca/Weston Softball has only two games in the books coming into this week, but both of them are wins, including a 12-0 pasting of La Farge last Thursday.
It was a disjointed week of sorts for River Valley girls soccer but the Blackhawks did improve to 2-0 in the SWC with a 6-0 win Thursday at Prairie du Chien.
The River Valley Blackhawks fell just short of starting the SWC Baseball slate 2-0 but lost on Thursday at Platteville, 7-6. Platteville jumped out to a 4-0 lead after three innings before Valley pushed across 2 runs in the fourth and fifth to get back in the game.

The outdoor season for the Ithaca/Weston track and field co-op is off and running with two meets this past week.
River Valley opened up the SWC boys golf season on Thursday with a conference mini-meet at Prairie du Chien. Valley placed fourth with a team score of 363 while Platteville was the team champ at 325 to take the early season conference lead. Dayne Moser was the only R-V golfer to get under 90 for the day with an 18-hole score of 86 at PDC.
The total is now at six for the amount of games postponed due to bad weather already this season for the Reedsburg Beaver softball program and the weather bug bit them last week, big-time. Reedsburg’s Badger Small game at Nishan Park vs. Portage last Tuesday was postponed and will be made up on May 1 and a game Friday vs.
The conference season is underway for Reedsburg Beaver boys tennis and it was a successful start to the Badger Small schedule for the Beavers in a 7-0 blanking of Sauk-Prairie last week, at Sauk.
Reedsburg had a productive night offensively but still fell short on the scoreboard in Badger Small Girls Soccer action Thursday night, falling 4-3 at Stoughton. Sophomore Sydney Olson scored two of the Beaver goals with Audrey Stelling also finding the back of the net.
