Hockey co-op is thinking big

What a difference a year makes. The Sauk Prairie co-op hockey team returned a strong group of juniors a year ago that could find the back of the net against any opponent on its schedule. But the Eagles had graduated an all-conference goaltender and didn’t have a replacement on the roster.

Soccer Vanguards earn honors

The Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld boys soccer team enjoyed a sensational season, posting a 9-5-2 overall record. The Vanguards also finished in second place in the Southern Capitol Conference with a 6-2-1 mark. After such a memorable year, Heights/Barneveld landed seven players on the all-conference team.

Eight Eagles named all-league

The Sauk Prairie football team got defensive in 2019. And they were rewarded for their efforts. On the heels of their first playoff berth since 2007, eight Eagles were recognized with All-Northern Badger Conference honors. Defensively, seven Eagles were honored.

Wisconsin Heights’ football team stunned many people this fall by posting an impressive 7-2 record. After so much success, it was far less shocking to see several Vanguards rewarded with postseason awards.

Sauk Prairie’s girls swimming season reaches the finish line Friday evening when the Eagles compete at the WIAA Division 2 state meet at the University of Wisconsin Natatorium. Once again, it will be a team-like atmosphere at the mecca for state swimming.

Sauk Prairie’s super seven

As a returning three-time all-conference selection, much was expected of Sauk Prairie senior forward Evan Carlson this season. At the other end of the spectrum, junior midfielder Joe Baumgardt was looking to score his first varsity goal and find his niche on a team, which had conference championship aspirations.
