We are all pretty nice people. Left and right, red and blue, black and white, old and young, gay and straight, men and women. With a few unfortunate exceptions, we all want to treat our children well. We want them to get good educations and to find meaningful work that pays well.
Studying law, legal implications and court cases while attaining my degree in police science was highly enlightening and many times entertaining. One professor, a retired FBI agent, asked the significance of Roe v Wade.
To create students who stay curious and inquisitive throughout their lives – active participants in democracy, critical consumers of information, creative contributors to our communities – we need to ensure our students are literate. When it comes to literacy in Wisconsin, I know we have a distance to go.

If they want to go after the “wealthy” there are a thousand ways to structure the tax code to do it. Their goal is to go after working people, freelancers, and very small businesses. They will not settle for anything less than complete and total surveillance.

Dear Senator Marklein;
Vote NO on Senate Bills 621 and 622 which propose maps of election districts for Wisconsin senators and representatives.
If you grew up in Wisconsin, chances are pretty good you trick-or-treated in less-than-ideal weather.
As a woman in my 30s, I saw it all growing up. There were Halloween nights where you could shed your jacket and walk in the surprisingly warm air. Other nights were chilly and windy but not out of line with a typical autumn.
Perhaps the supply chain disruption is a blessing. We are being warned that our Christmas shopping may be more difficult because so many goods are stuck on container ships in harbors around the world, waiting to be unloaded by workers who are not there and to be trucked by truckers who are not there.
