This year, more than ever, I am glad to live where I do. I live in a quiet corner of Sauk County where my neighbors are solid old oaks and lively young popples, as well as all the maples I keep planting, at least the ones that survived their first few years and the predation of deer and voles.

Have you ever seen that video of the kid saying grace at Thanksgiving?

The child is probably in college now; the video is that old, but it’s no less charming or relevant, and I’m sure there are variations of it on the Internet. In short, the boy gives thanks for so many things that his prayer becomes comical.

Happy Thanksgiving! With these words, you often hear a message of thanks. This holiday, I echo this message and share my immense gratitude to everyone from the farmer to the consumer. In 2021, however, I also want to share my tremendous pride this Thanksgiving, and I hope you, Wisconsin agriculture, are proud as well.

As a student in France, my medical coverage was completely covered through French Social Security. Later when visiting relatives in Australia, our toddler was treated cost free at a Sydney hospital.
