This week’s front-page story on the super-cell thunderstorm that spawned two tornadoes — one outside Dodgeville and one in Mazomanie township — is a labor of love. I am a self-described weather geek, and you can bet I was tracking Wednesday’s storms on my various radar and weather apps.

In response to Mr. Gorak's letter on Pride in America, I cannot be proud that our president is a felon and convicted sexual predator. Can we be proud that he may even be a pedophile . . . That he bragged about going into rooms where young girls were not fully dressed and commented about their bodies?

When County Board members say the nursing home lost money, they are hypocritically criticizing the nursing home for what other county departments and services do—which is use some property tax dollars!!!!

Right, Left or Center, we know wrong when we see it.

Police in the U.S.A. have badges. They have IDs identifying them by name. They have faces, They have uniforms. They have warrants with named suspects. They advise suspects of their rights. They are accountable. (And, yes, I realize that police are not perfect.)

FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino, along with Candidate Donald Trump, his sons, and a myriad of other supporters, assured 2024 voters that if elected, Trump would release the Epstein files, and expose the rampant sex trafficking among elites.

When I tell people that I’m an intern at a local print newspaper in my hometown, I get some interesting reactions. A lot of blank stares; the occasional admiration; and my favorite; “We still have a print newspaper?”

I was at the VA hospital in Madison helping out as a driver a couple days before the 4th. I forgot to bring a book to read but it turned out ok because it was a good chance to people watch, chat with others who were waiting and think. It was also nice because I don’t seem to get a lot of free time these days to just hang out.

I usually look forward to the letters section of the paper, and am happy to read opinions that I disagree with. It makes a person re-think their own positions, especially in these very polarized times. Reading LaVerne Siverling's letter, in fact, filled me with disgust.
