The Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights’ boys wrestling team finished in 11th place at the Eau Claire Holiday duals on Dec. 28.
The Eagles went 1-2 in its four-team pool play. That sent Sauk-Heights into the 9th-to-12th place bracket, where they split a pair of matches and finished 11th overall.

The Sauk Prairie co-op boys hockey team fell to Oregon, 6-2, on Jan. 3.
The Eagles, who have players from Mount Horeb, Barneveld, River Valley and Wisconsin Heights, fell to 4-9 overall and 2-4 in the Badger Conference.
Sauk Prairie’s girls basketball team dropped two of three games over the holiday break.

• Madison Edgewood 55, Sauk Prairie 33 — The Crusaders are the defending WIAA Division 2 state champions and ranked No. 2 in the state again this year.
The Sauk Prairie-Wisconsin Heights boys swimming team finished in third place at the 10-team Verona Invite on Jan. 28.
Verona won the meet with 561.5 points, while McFarland (405), Sauk-Heights (264), Waunakee (258) and DeForest (232) rounded out the top five.
Reedsburg Beaver Boys Basketball certainly had some momentum going into last Friday’s encounter with arch-rival Baraboo. The Beavers improved to 4-2 for the season with wins over Bangor and Wisconsin Rapids the previous week and they did it without injured starters Alek Southworth, the team’s leading scorer, and post player Luke Verch.

The first game of the new year was an exciting one for the RWD Miners boys hockey co-op but the end result was not so satisfying, a 3-2 overtime loss on the road against the Aquinas/Holmen Avalanche in Onalaska.

1) To say the start of the 2024 football season was a bit of a contrast to the end of the season for the Reedsburg Beaver football team would be an understatement, to say the least.
Reedsburg had four girls wrestlers that were place-winners at a high school girls tournament in Mauston Friday night.
Chloe Roloff earned second place in her weight class for the Beavers with Makayla Mittlestaedt placing third while Nahomi Ofczarcak and Gracelyn Rentz both registered fifth-place finishes in Mauston.
A two-game win streak had those associated with the Badger Lightning girls high school hockey co-op feeling good going into last weekend but the Lightning saw the door slam shut in a 6-0 loss to Black River Falls in Baraboo on Friday night.
