RWD wins 1 of 3 games on ice

There was no home ice this past week for the RWD Miners hockey team as the Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells/Mauston co-op played three road games in a span of five days with two of them league contests. RWD got a much-needed win at Onalaska in between Badger Conference losses at Oregon and Sauk.

The Beaver wrestlers have yet to lose a Badger Small dual meet this season and they have been dominant in all four of them as well, including a 61-12 rout of Sauk-Prairie last Friday night on Alumni Night, Youth Night and Pack the Gym Night at RAHS.

Weston boys basketball falls at Seneca after long break

Seneca proved to be too much for a short-handed Weston squad last Thursday as the Silver Eagle boys basketball team its first game in well over two weeks. Seneca dominated pretty much from start to finish in a 94-50 victory in Ridge and Valley Conference play.

Eagles’ gymnasts continue to soar

Sauk Prairie’s girls gymnastics team won a pair of Badger Conference meets last week. The Eagles rolled past Milton, 134-3950-118.0250, on Jan. 7. Sauk Prairie then defeated Watertown, 133.350-122.025, on Jan. 11.

Sauk Prairie girls roll to a pair of wins

Sauk Prairie’s girls basketball team had a terrific week, rolling to a pair of wins. The Eagles routed McFarland, 51-18, on Jan. 7. Sauk Prairie also cruised past Reedsburg, 56-31, on Jan. 10. The Eagles improved to 6-5 overall, 3-3 in the Badger Small Conference. “It was a fun week with us playing hard,” Eagles coach Jacob Breunig said.
