Weston girls break long losing streak against Ithaca

The Weston Silver Eagle girls basketball made some history last Tuesday night. Weston had not beaten rival Ithaca since February of 2011 but that changed last week as the Silver Eagles rallied from a 15-point first half deficit to win in exciting fashion, 51-43, at Weston High School.

The end of the regular season was a very positive one for the Reedsburg Beaver wrestlers this past weekend as Reedsburg completed a 7-2 dual meet season with lopsided wins over Sauk-Prairie and Verona at Sauk on Friday night.

The Beavers boys basketball squad had two home games in the same week for the first time this season this past week but the home cooking didn’t help in the win-loss column as Reedsburg went down to defeat against a strong Milton team and vs. Watertown.

Ithaca/Weston wrestlers appear poised for WIAA Tournament action Saturday

The Ithaca/Weston wrestlers were one of six schools competing at Dodgeville on Friday night and a round-robin bracket was used for each weight class to get wrestlers as many matches as possible.

Heights girls win on Senior Night

The setting seemed strange. Then again, nothing about sports these days is normal. Wisconsin Heights’ girls basketball team traveled to JustAgame Field House in Wisconsin Dells for its Senior Night on Jan. 21. And the Vanguards made it a memorable night, downing Belleville, 48-40.
