After having seven consecutive games postponed or cancelled with players in quarantine amidst the COVID pandemic, the Weston boys basketball team returned to action on Monday night, hosting a make-up game with Cassville. The home team hung tough early but Cassville pulled away in the second half for a 63-37 victory.
The skaters for the Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells/Mauston faced their most difficult week of the season in terms of quality opposition this past week and it started on Tuesday with a lopsided loss on home ice, 8-2 against Madison Edgewood, the second loss of the season against the Crusaders.
Reedsburg showed plenty of strong play over a pair of games last week but not enough to get over the hump as the Beaver boys basketball team fell to 1-9 for the season with losses to Mauston and Madison Edgewood.
Despite not having some of their top wrestlers available due to season-ending injuries, the Reedsburg Beavers have won four consecutive dual meets including a 41-24 decision over Portage Friday night at RAHS.
The Reedsburg Beaver gymnasts competed in their first meet in 18 days last Tuesday as a short-handed Beaver squad dropped a dual meet at Watertown. Watertown’s team score of 127.65 eclipsed the Beavers mark of 122.80.
For the second straight night, the Reedsburg Beaver girls basketball team established team records as the Beavers dominated from start to finish in an 89-32 trouncing of the Portage Warriors at RAHS last Tuesday.
For the second time this season, the Badger Lightning girls high school hockey co-op experienced victory this past week, routing Beaver Dam, a Badger Conference foe, but still a non-league game in this COVID affected season.

An eight-game losing streak is over for the Weston Silver Eagle girls basketball team after a Senior Night victory on Friday by a final score of 55-41 against the North Crawford Trojans.
A limited amount of spectators will be allowed at home sporting events at RAHS for the near future after not being allowed up until now during the current winter sports season.
