We’re just past the halfway point of the 2025 high school football season and things are looking good right now for Head Coach Tyler McCain and the River Valley Blackhawks.
Reedsburg got a much-needed win on the soccer pitch last Tuesday, winning a conference matchup over Portage/Poynette United in convincing fashion, 5-0, at RAHS. Reedsburg was winless in the first five matches of the season, but they put this one in the victory column, allowing only two shots on net.
The Beaver volleyball team came into this past week still looking for a conference win but that is no longer the case as Reedsburg traveled to Portage and pulled out an exciting win in five sets over the Warriors.
Reedsburg ran in a high school cross country meet for just the third time this season on Saturday, amongst a field of schools at the Mount Horeb Invite.
The Reedsburg Athletic Club Hall of Fame will add three members this fall after voting results from the spring have been announced. They include Mike Huber, a 2008 graduate; Matt Lennon, a 2011 grad; and Mason McMillen, a 2018 RAHS graduate.
The River Valley/Lodi/ Wisconsin Heights co-op girls swim team rolled to an easy dual meet win over Fort Atkinson last week by a final score of 123-39.
Individuals scoring points included the following swimmers:
--Kailin Alexander – fourth in 100-yard butterfly, first in 100-yard backstroke
It was a tough task for the Wonewoc-Center/Weston Silverwolves on Friday night, going on the road to face a state-ranked Belmont team in league play in the Ridge and Valley eight-man conference.
