The week three loss to La Crosse Central was an unexpected outcome and a surprise for those associated with the Reedsburg Beaver football program but the Beavers bounced back in impressive fashion last week.
Reedsburg showed improvement on the soccer pitch last Tuesday but still fell short in a 1-0 loss at Stoughton. Rylan Brooks was outstanding in goal with several saves while allowing just the one goal, in the first half. The Beavers now enter this week at 0-2 in league play and 0-4-1 overall for the season.
A still developing cross-country program in the Weston School District continues to show improvement after some good performances in Necedah last week.
Weston enjoyed some home cooking on the volleyball court with four home duals in a span of five days after starting the dual match season with wins on the road against Coulee Christian and La Farge.
Reedsburg got to play twice on the home court last week in girls tennis action and split a pair of Badger Small duals with a 5-2 win over Fort Atkinson and a 6-1 loss vs. Sauk-Prairie.
The Reedsburg Beavers were one of many programs running at Saturday’s River Valley Cross Country Invite in Spring Green, a field that included over 40 school districts. It was just the second meet of the season for the Beavers.
Every team in Badger Small girls golf gets to host one of seven conference meets with all of the schools taking part and last Tuesday was Reedsburg’s turn at the Reedsburg Country Club.
The Spring Green Municipal Golf Course was once again the sight for one of the state’s largest cross country meets on Saturday as the Annual River Valley Invite was held with well over 40 schools in action at the varsity, JV- and middle-school levels.
River Valley had its most important game of the 2025 football season to date last Friday as the Prairie du Chien Blackhawks, the 2024 SWC football champs, came to River Valley High School on Youth Football Night.
