Reedsburg will have a boys golfer competing at the WIAA State Tournament for the first time in nearly 10 years this week after RAHS junior Preston Powell punched his ticket to state with an outstanding round last week at Holmen Sectional.
River Valley was ranked fourth in the state for D-4 girls soccer programs at one point this season and had hopes for a conference title and possibly a WIAA State Tournament berth after coming up just 1 win short of state last season.
Weston was the top team in Ridge and Valley Conference Baseball for much of this season and five players on the Silver Eagles roster earned All-Conference accolades for their efforts.
For more than 85 minutes last Saturday, third-seeded Sauk Prairie and 11th-seeded Watertown battled to a scoreless tie in a WIAA Division 2 prep girls regional final soccer match.
But then junior defender Brooklyn Kaufman and junior midfielder Leah Allen hooked up for the play of the game.
