Floggers team has lead in Men’s Golf League

The Floggers team has the lead over C&C Masonry atop the team standings in the Monday Night Men’s Golf League at the Reedsburg Country Club heading into this week’s action.

Floggers team members include Pete Steinhauer, Dan Hillcoat, Dave Schoell and Don Webber.

The league season at RCC runs through Aug. 18.

Clayton Lee sets two new records for Ithaca/Weston track and field

Junior distance runner Clayton Lee has been in the business of breaking school records all season and the Ithaca/Weston did again, not once, but twice this weekend at the WIAA State Track and Field Meet at UW-La Crosse.

River Valley falls to Mineral Point to end 2025 baseball season

River Valley got the pitching it needed and a pretty solid defensive effort that was needed but couldn’t deliver the key hit as the Blackhawks baseball season came to a close last Thursday with a 3-1 setback at Mineral Point in WIAA D-3 Regional baseball action.

River Valley falls short of conference crown in girls soccer

River Valley looked to be in position for much of the season to claim its first SWC girls soccer championship since 2015 but in the end, the Blackhawks fell just short of that achievement, falling 4-1 to the Platteville/Lancaster co-op last Thursday in Spring Green.

River Valley softball 2025 finishes the season 7-16 overall


The River Valley High School girls softball team ended this season with a final record of 7-16 overall after a WIAA Tournament loss at Westby, 10-9 in eight innings, on May 22. (River Valley School District photo)

River Valley saw its softball season end on May 22 with a wild, 10-9 setback at Westby in the opening game of the WIAA Tournament season. It was the fifth time this season scoring nine runs or more for the Blackhawks but it was the first loss of the season with that scenario.

The River Valley Blackhawks will have representation at the WIAA State Track and Field Meet at UW-La Crosse this weekend thanks to senior Wes Hatfield who has qualified in two sprint events with strong showings in McFarland on Friday night.

Sauk Prairie softball concludes rocky season at quarterfinal

A rough year for Sauk Prairie’s girls softball team came to an end on May 22.

The ninth-seeded Eagles fell to eighth-seeded La Crosse Logan, 8-4, in a WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal. Sauk Prairie finished the season 0-22.
