Happy Valentine's Day, friends. It is Valentine's Day as I write this, although it will be in the past when you read it. Valentine's Day is not just for lovers, just as Mother's Day is not just for mothers with children.

I am writing this letter to tell your readers about my experience with Scott Whitsett. Scott is running for Reedsburg School Board this spring.

Editor Heather Stanek in her Feb. 3 column complains that Sen. Ron Johnson's barring the media from covering his "mobile office" meetings with constituents is "unethical" and maybe even "illegal."

Dear Wisconsin families and educators,

 I am writing this letter to you as a fellow parent and a former teacher.

There was some kind of big game this past weekend…not sure what it was called. All I know is a lot of people ate food, and some watched the commercials. Even more viewers ranted or raved about the half-time show. At least, I think that’s what you call the performance.
