Beaver volleyball readies for post-season play

It’s now win or go home time for the Reedsburg Beaver volleyball team as the WIAA Tournament season begins this week.

Reedsburg closed out the regular season schedule last week with a home win over Monona Grove in the Badger Challenge and a loss at Madison Memorial in a recently added match to the schedule.

Saturday marked the best showing in several years for the Reedsburg Beaver boys cross country team in a conference meet as Reedsburg came away with a fourth-place team finish among the eight schools that ran at the Norsk Golf Club in Mount Horeb.

Eagles punch playoff ticket

The wait is over. Sauk Prairie’s football team defeated Madison Edgewood, 21-9, last Friday and clinched its first playoff berth since 2019. The seventh-seeded Eagles travel to second-seeded Mount Horeb-Barneveld for a WIAA Division 3 opening round playoff game Friday at 7 p.m.

But the Eagles’ bid to snatch the title away from their conference rivals fell short.

Bring on the postseason

Brooks Behn and the Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld boys soccer team finished the regular season with a pair of wins. Heights/Barneveld defeated Prairie du Chien, 4-0, on Oct. 14. The Vanguards then downed Watertown Luther Prep, 3-1, on Oct. 15 and finished the regular season 7-6 overall.
