Weston cross country runners compete at Riverdale Invite

Three boys runners from Weston High School also competed at Saturday’s Riverdale Invite with freshman Torian Bormett placing 80th overall at 19 minutes, 40.2 seconds, freshman Deakin McDonough was 99th overall at 20:29.8 and senior Ethan Horkan also competed for Weston.

Meyer finishes strong for Beaver girls golf in WIAA Sectional play

Senior Ashley Meyer had a strong finish to her high school girls golf career with the Reedsburg Beavers last week, competing individually for the first time at the WIAA D-1 Sectional level last week at Edelweiss Chalet, near Oregon.

Vanguards win fourth straight

Back on Sept. 13, when Wisconsin Heights’ 8-man football team had lost two straight games, Vanguards coach Connor Herrling made a bold prediction. “I told this team four weeks ago that we are going to win out,” Herrling said. Now, Herrling and the Vanguards are just one win from making that happen.

Vanguards’ soccer team seeded ninth

The Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld boys soccer team received the No. 9 seed in their sectional and will travel to eighth-seeded Central Christian Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. in a regional semifinals. If the Vanguards win there, they’d travel to top-seeded Lake Country Lutheran for a regional final Oct. 26.
