Beaver girls blank Mauston on soccer field behind 4 goals from Gronley

As we get closer to the end of the regular season schedule, the Reedsburg Beaver Girls Soccer team earned a much-needed win last week.

The week began, however, with a 6-1 loss in conference play against the Stoughton Vikings by a final count of 6-1.

Eagles’ girls track team third at conference

Sauk Prairie’s girls track and field team finished in third place at the Badger Small Conference meet on May 14. The Eagles’ boys were seventh. Madison Edgewood won the girls event with 165 points, while McFarland was second at 117 and Sauk Prairie finished with 99 points.

Wildman, Gavol shine at conference

Sauk Prairie’s No. 1 doubles team of Ayden Wildman and Sebastian Gavol had a tremendous showing at the Badger Conference tournament last Friday and Saturday at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Eagles’ top pair won their first two matches and finished fourth in their flight.

Sauk Prairie golfers finish second in Badger Small

The postseason is here. And Sauk Prairie’s boys golf team feels awfully good about what lies ahead. The Eagles finished the regular season by earning a second place finish in the final Badger Conference standings. Sauk Prairie finished third at the conference meet, but combined with the regular season results, finished second overall.

Soccer Eagles close in on conference title

Sauk Prairie’s girls soccer team has been a force for years now. And the Eagles have once again put themselves in a position to win a Badger Small Conference title. The Eagles rallied back from a 2-0 deficit at Baraboo on May 16 and earned a 2-2 draw. That left Sauk Prairie in prime position to capture a conference title.

Heights track teams fare well at conference

Wisconsin Heights’ track teams competed at the Capitol Conference meet on May 14. Here’s are the Vanguards that earned top-6 finishes:   GIRLS • Bryn Meyer won the 100-meter dash (13.19) and was second in the 200-meter dash (27.11). Meyer was also fourth in the long jump (16-7 ¾) and fifth in the 300-meter hurdles (50.76).

Baseball Vanguards fall twice to Belleville

Wisconsin Heights’ baseball team dropped a pair of games to Belleville last week. The Wildcats defeated the Vanguards, 2-1, on May 14 and 15-5 on May 16. Heights fell to 2-17 on the season and is now 0-10 in the Capitol South Conference. Here’s a recap of Heights’ week:

Sauk Prairie’s lacrosse team heads to postseason

Sauk Prairie’s co-op boys lacrosse team will begin the postseason Friday when the 15th-seeded Eagles host 18th-seeded Brookfield’s co-op team at 7 p.m. If the Eagles win there, they would travel to second-seeded Kettle Moraine/St. John’s Northwestern in a regional semifinal on May 28.

Baseball Eagles set for playoffs

Sauk Prairie’s baseball team received the No. 8 seed in its sectional and will host ninth-seeded Wisconsin Dells on Thursday at 5 p.m. in a WIAA Division 2 regional quarterfinal. The Eagles finished the regular season 8-15 after splitting a pair of games with Madison Edgewood last week.
