The 31st Sauk County Dairy Breakfast on the Farm served about 2,150 people. The rain held off until cleanup so everyone was able to enjoy their meal, visit the education displays, take a self-guided tour of the whole farming operation and listen to entertainment while eating ice cream!

I had no idea it was a legitimate offer…I figured the low price was too good to be true. But, I was wrong. I was too skeptical.
Anyone who has read my letters to the Reedsburg Independent, over the years, knows that I typically use up all, or most of, the 400-word limit. Not this time.
Last Saturday morning, I headed out early, thinking there wouldn’t be too many people yet at the Sauk County Dairy Breakfast. Boy, was I wrong.
Apparently, people are more than willing to get up at the crack of dawn for a good meal, or maybe they were excited about seeing the farm. Or maybe, like me, they thought they’d beat the rush.
June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. During June, communities across the country will sponsor events to highlight solutions to this systemic social challenge.
The Reedsburg Outdoor Club held the annual Kids Fishing Day on June 4. Despite the weather the kids had a great time, and they caught some great fish. We wish to thank our sponsors that helped with the event: Reedsburg True Value, Plenkes Pond Association and the William Friede Trust Fund.
