Most of us are keen to vote for the first time upon coming of age, and many begin by voting as our parents do. Unfortunately, sometimes the party we support does not remain as it once was. Such is the case with the U.S. Republican Party.

Every time an elected official sends an email, it becomes a public record. When an employee at a government agency makes a purchase, that transaction is the public’s business. Whenever a permit or license is issued by a government authority, this is information you should be able to obtain.

You can find an amazing video online that shows the size of Earth compared to the sun, other planets and additional heavenly bodies. It’s incredible how small it is when placed next to others, and even more sobering when you consider how tiny we are as human beings.

Here comes the amazing, magical United Fund Radio Auction! I love the way this event draws us all together in a good natured competition over cakes and crafts and calf starter to raise money for all the United Fund charities. This year's auction begins on Jan. 24.

Anyone who was in high school prior to 1990 can recall a requirement to take at least one type of technical education class, where you would learn some basic skills about cooking, sewing, metals, woodworking, printing, architecture and the list goes on.

The new year is here. Who of us knows what 2022 will bring? Who of us knows what tomorrow will bring for that matter?
