Someone must have broken into our house… My eyes pop open in the dark when I hear footsteps in the house. The rest of my body remains still, but those orbs, their powers completely stripped away by the night, stand at futile attention while I lie in bed.

My brother has a saying: If there’s a lot of traffic around here, there’s either an auction or a gun sale.

Adam would know a thing or two about traffic and multitudes; he’s lived in several metropolitan areas. He was born and raised around here, though, meaning he also has a solid grasp of country and small-town living.

Letter: Climate change is least of our worries

Terry Hansen's Dec. 30 letter cites a 2019 climate change report stating that "The President has a responsibility to protect our national security from future climate threats by ensuring they never come to pass."
