Heights XC teams fare well at Platteville

The Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld boys cross country team finished third at the Platteville Invite among Small schools last Saturday. St. Ambrose Academy won the 11-team event with 51 points, while Iowa-Grant (78), Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld (118), Albany (118) and Prairie du Chien (125) rounded out the top five.

Reedsburg meets Baraboo for the 137th time in high school football on Friday


The Old River Jug is up for grabs this Friday night when the Reedsburg Beaver football team hosts the Baraboo Thunderbirds at Reedsburg’s Millennium Field. The most often played high school football rivalry in the state of Wisconsin adds another chapter this week when the Reedsburg Beavers square off against the Baraboo Thunderbirds for the 137th time in a matchup that dates back all the way back to 1900.

Weston cross country runners participate in Reedsburg Invitational

Weston had boys runners in action at the Reedsburg Invitational Saturday with freshman Deakin McDonough placing 47th overall at 21:07.20.

Freshman Torian Bormet and senior Ethan Craker also ran for the Silver Eagles on Saturday.

Weston’s high school and middle school runners will be in action at Kickapoo on Thursday this week.

Highland takes care of Wonewoc-Center/Weston on football field

Wonewoc-Center/Weston Silverwolves Football Coach Jake McGlynn knew Highland would be a tough opponent for his squad this past Saturday and it proved to be true with Highland, playing at home, rolling to a 56-7 win in a league game in the Ridge and Valley in eight-man football action.

Brenner, Hahn, Brown will be in Reedsburg Athletic Club Hall of Fame 2024 class

The Reedsburg Athletic Club Hall of Fame will grow this week as three new members have been elected and will officially be inducted into the Hall Friday night at halftime in a ceremony at the Reedsburg-Baraboo football game at Millennium Field.
