The Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld boys cross country team finished in eighth place at the star-studded, 18-team River Valley Invite last Saturday.

Busy week

Otis Andres (right) and Sauk Prairie’s boys soccer team went 1-1-1 during a busy week. The Eagles rolled past Reedsburg, 7-2, on Sept. 10. Sauk Prairie and DeForest played to a 2-2 tie on Sept. 12. And Wisconsin Dells downed the Eagles, 4-1, last Saturday. Sauk Prairie is now 3-4-2 this season, but sits at 2-0 in the Badger Small Conference.

Vanguards shine

Cooper Shipman and the Wisconsin Heights/Barneveld soccer team enjoyed a big week. The Vanguards downed Dodgeville/Mineral Point, 2-1, on Sept. 10. Heights/Barneveld then edged Cambridge/Deerfield, 3-2, on Sept.12. The Vanguards are now 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the Capitol Conference.

Beaver golfers fall to Mount Horeb in conference play

The conference slate resumed for the Reedsburg Beaver girls golf squad last Tuesday as the Beavers hosted Mount Horeb at the Reedsburg Country Club.

The dual was originally scheduled the previous week but was postponed due to excessive heat.

Beavers win 8 of 11 dual matches on tennis court

Despite the school year just beginning last week, the Reedsburg Beaver girls tennis team has already played 10 dual matches this season. The Beavers have won eight as a team, including a pair last week against West Salem and Sauk-Prairie, both at RAHS.

Silverwolves football blanked at De Soto last week

The first road trip also meant the first conference game of the season for the Wonewoc-Center/Weston Silverwolves football team on Friday night as the Ridge and Valley 8 season began with the Silverwolves at De Soto.

The home team was dominant from the get-go on the way to a 40-0 victory as the Silverwolves fell to 0-2 overall.

Cross country schedule continues for Reedsburg Beavers

Meet number two of the cross country schedule is in the books as the Beavers ran in the Norski Invite near DeForest last Wednesday.

Reedsburg boys placed fourth among eight schools, behind DeForest, Waunakee and Sauk-Prairie, but ahead of Beaver Dam, Janesville Parker, Milton and Berlin.
