Craker wins 4 titles but Beaver gymnasts lose tight dual vs. Sauk

Despite dealing with knee and ankle ailments, Thursday was one of the best nights in the high school gymnastics career for RAHS senior Emily Craker. Craker and fellow seniors Sarah Schiller and Liana Fast were performing for the last time at RAHS in the final home meet of the season on Senior Night.

In a span of thee days, the Beaver girls basketball team had one of the largest margins of victory ever, nearly pulled off a big upset and saw its marquee player set another milestone in an eventful end to this past week.

Klein, swimmers headed to state

At first, it appeared that if it wasn’t for bad luck, Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights senior co-captain Daniel Klein would have no luck at all. A collapsed right lung – pneumothorax – cost him most of his junior swimming season and an opportunity to earn his first trip to the state meet.

WAUNAKEE – Senior co-captains Brason Ballweg and Austin Lankey would like to extend their high school wrestling careers to the limit. That would mean a trip to the Kohl Center in Madison for the annual WIAA Division 1 individual state wrestling tournament.

Eagles’ girls earn No. 5 seed

The seeding was no surprise, really. Now, Sauk Prairie’s girls basketball team hopes to pull off a few surprises. The Eagles — who have enjoyed another quality season — earned the No. 5 seed in their WIAA Division 2 sectional. Sauk Prairie will travel to fourth-seeded Reedsburg for a regional semifinal on Feb. 23.

Sauk Prairie’s co-op hockey team receives No. 9 seed

Sauk Prairie’s co-op hockey team received the No. 9 seed in its sectional and traveled to eighth-seeded Sun Prairie Tuesday for a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal. If the Eagles prevailed, they’d travel to top-seeded Madison Edgewood for a regional final Friday at 7 p.m.
