The Beaver girls basketball team experienced a rarity recently, experiencing a three-game losing skid.

Reedsburg lost two games on the road to Stoughton and Wisconsin Rapids and then early last week, the streak was extended in a 74-46 loss to state-ranked Edgewood at RAHS.

Lightning hockey win streak reaches 4 before loss to Metro Lynx

It’s been many years since the area high school girls hockey co-op known as the Badger Lightning has produced a four-game win streak but that’s where the group stood after a Badger Conference win, 3-1, over the Icebergs from Stoughton last Tuesday in Baraboo.

Gymnasts win River Valley Invite

Justine Anderson is not a crier. But late Saturday afternoon, Anderson — Sauk Prairie’s girls gymnastics coach — couldn’t help herself. The Eagles had a day to remember and won the 10-team River Valley Invite. And afterwards, Anderson needed a box of tissues.

Wrestlers 11th at conference

WAUNAKEE – The preliminaries are over. It’s time to bring on the postseason. First, the Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights wrestling program had one more regular season test on its plate. The Eagles finished with 99.5 points to place 11th out of 14 teams at the annual Badger Conference tournament hosted by Waunakee last Saturday.

Eagles’ girls win two games

Postseason seeds for the girls basketball tournament will be announced Sunday. And Sauk Prairie is putting itself in position to land an impressive seed. The Eagles won a pair of games last week and improved to 11-7 on the season. Sauk Prairie defeated Mount Horeb, 53-30, on Jan. 30. The Eagles then cruised past Portage, 72-11, last Friday.

Sauk Prairie’s boys basketball team drops two of three

It was an up and down week for Sauk Prairie’s boys basketball team. The Eagles fell to Lodi, 61-52, on Jan. 30. Sauk Prairie rebounded with an 80-70 win over McFarland on Feb. 2. The Eagles then lost to La Crosse Central, 64-51, last Saturday. Sauk Prairie is now 10-8 on the year and 6-3 in the Badger Small Conference.
