Heights girls given No. 12 seed

Their path will be treacherous and hazardous. And unless they can spring a series of upsets, their journey could also be short. Wisconsin Heights’ girls basketball team received the No. 12-seed in its 12-team WIAA Division 4 sectional.

Vosburg’s big night lifts Vanguards past Monticello

Wisconsin Heights’ boys basketball team split a pair of games last week. New Glarus downed the Vanguards, 67-41, on Feb. 8. Heights then bounced back with a 54-50 win at Monticello last Saturday. Heights is now 8-12 on the season and 0-6 in the Capitol Conference. Here’s a recap of the Vanguards’ week:

Gymnasts achieve highest team score of season

The River Valley/ Barneveld (RVB) gymnastics team traveled to the Lisa Steger Memorial Invitational in Platteville this past Saturday. RVB was one of ten teams competing that day, with Mt. Horeb taking the top spot with 138.700 points followed by the Dodgeville/ Highland/ Iowa-Grant/ Mineral Point Co-op team taking second place with 134.

River Valley wrestlers take on regionals

The River Valley High School varsity wrestling team traveled to Richland Center for regionals this past week. 13 teams traveled to the division two regional. Prairie du Chien took first place as a team with 295 points, with River Valley taking fourth place with 132 points.
