Beaver girls fall to Mt. Horeb and Sauk, prep for post-season play

It was a bit closer this time but in the end, Mount Horeb was again victorious over the Beavers in girls basketball last Tuesday at RAHS, 56-42, to sweep the regular season series.

Waldner, Coleman to represent Ithaca/Weston at WIAA State Wrestling

Once again, Ithaca/Weston co-op wrestling will be represented this week at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament with two wrestlers moving on from the WIAA D-3 Westby Sectional on Saturday with second-place finishes.

Eagles’ swimmers shine at state

WAUKESHA — Todd Wuerger wasn’t surprised. Expectations are always high inside the Sauk Prairie/Wisconsin Heights boys swimming program, and this year was no different. Still, when the Eagles went to the WIAA Division 2 state meet last Friday at Waukesha South High School and notched a ninth place finish, Wuerger was extremely happy.

Heights boys land No. 9 seed

It’s going to be a long, tough road for Wisconsin Heights’ boys basketball team. But every year a Cinderella or two emerges. Maybe, just maybe … Heights received the No. 9 seed in its half of its WIAA Division 4 sectional. The Vanguards open the postseason by traveling to ninth-seeded Iowa Grant for a regional quarterfinal on March 4 at 7 p.m.

It wasn’t the ending they were hoping for. Now, Wisconsin Heights’ girls basketball team must turn the page and hope for the best in the second season. The Vanguards dropped a pair of games last week, which pushed their losing streak to five games.
