Weston had only one high school boys basketball game this past week and it was a strange one for the Silver Eagles as they hosted Seneca on Youth Night at Weston High School.
The dominance that Reedsburg Beaver wrestling has shown in recent seasons was on full display once again on Saturday at the 2025 Badger Conference Tournament at De Forest High School.
Mike Welch, who has coached hockey at the youth level or high school level for the past 41 years in Reedsburg, was recognized on the ice following last week’s RWD Boys hockey game at RACA. A man that has influenced hundreds of area youth hockey players was recognized Friday night at RACA in Reedsburg.

Ithaca/Weston was one of 11 teams competing at Saturday’s Scenic Ridge and Rivers Conference Wrestling Tournament in Elroy which featured squads from the Scenic Bluffs, Ridge and Valley and Six Rivers Conferences.
There won’t be a better team that the Reedsburg Beaver Girls Basketball team will face this year than Madison Edgewood and the Beavers have to face them twice as a conference foe. The second meeting was this past Thursday and although the Beavers hung tough early, Edgewood, the defending D-2 state champs, posted a 62-32 win at RAHS.
The late season charge continues for the area girls hockey co-op, the Badger Lightning, with wins in four of the last five games which included a 3-1 Badger Conference victory last Tuesday over the Metro Lynx in the Madison area.
February gets into full swing, it was a week featuring two conference games for the Reedsburg Beaver Boys Basketball team including a home contest with Stoughton and a road trip to Madison vs. Edgewood.
