Sauk Prairie’s co-op hockey team — which included players from Mount Horeb, Wisconsin Heights, River Valley and Barneveld — experienced it all last week.
STEVENS POINT — The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, which oversees most high school sports in Wisconsin, announced on Feb. 19 that it is changing its policy regarding the participation of transgender athletes in girls sports.
For the 18th time in the 19 seasons that Mark Simon has been the head coach, the Reedsburg Beaver girls basketball squad has won at least 10 games as the Beavers improved to 10-12 overall last Tuesday with a 59-46 win in Badger Small play in McFarland.
It will end up being an idle week for the Badger Lightning girls hockey co-op after the Monday win over Viroqua last week at RACA. Friday’s game at Northland Pines was cancelled due to inclement weather and will not be made up.
The Beavers started the season at 4-2 in boys hoops action and they stood at 6-3 overall after a lopsided win at Portage on Jan. 9. Since then, the schedule has gotten a bit tougher and the wins have been hard to come by.
Five wrestlers from the Weston/Ithaca co-op have qualified for this Saturday’s Sectional Tournament after strong outings at last Saturday’s WIAA D-3 Regional in Mineral Point.
The Beaver gymnasts had their third meet in five days last Tuesday with a conference dual at Sauk-Prairie. Reedsburg struggled a bit with a team score of 123.40 with Sauk winning the dual at 136.90 team points.
