Last week consisted of road trips to Kickapoo and Ithaca in Ridge and Valley Conference play for the Weston Silver Eagle boys basketball team after an incredible 100-point performance in a win over Riverdale on a night where Garrett Jennings reached the 1,000-point mark for his career.

It turned out to be tough sledding up north over the weekend for the RWD Miners boys hockey team against some top-flight competition as RWD fell to Baldwin-Woodville Friday and vs. Amery on Saturday afternoon. The overall season record sits at 8-13 with three regular season games remaining.

Reedsburg’s recent dominance within their conference on the wrestling mat continued last Friday as the Beavers completed another perfect dual meet record at 6-0 for the season in Badger Small with a 53-22 decision at Stoughton.

Make it 2 wins this season over the Stoughton Icebergs for the Badger Lightning girls hockey co-op after a 3-1 Badger Conference win in Stoughton Friday night.

Ithaca/Weston joined Richland Center, Hillsboro and the host school, Riverdale in a high school wrestling quad last Tuesday night. I/W won their dual with Hillsboro, 45-9, but lost to Richland Center, 45-21, and to Riverdale, 60-24.

The team score was down a bit but it was good enough to pick up a dual meet win for the Reedsburg Beaver gymnasts last Tuesday in Watertown. Reedsburg scored 123.40, about 7 points down from their mark in Holmen recently, but they won the dual with Watertown right at 123 as a team.

A losing streak came to an end and two much needed victories were registered this past week for the Beaver girls basketball team with conference wins coming on the road against Baraboo and Portage as the Beavers improved to 9-11 overall and 5-5 in league play in the Badger Small.

It was a week with three games and three tight games at that for the Reedsburg Beaver boys basketball squad but Reedsburg was able to win only one of the three contests but that victory was a league win in impressive fashion at Sauk-Prairie.
