My nose hurts. It feels as though someone has been sticking COVID-19 swabs up my nose. But wait, they have been! And to my dismay, I tested positive for COVID-19! Talk about a world turner! Now I have to isolate for 10 days and my poor husband, who is in the assisted living place, will have to quarantine for 14 days!

It is now September and deposed and disgraced former President Donald Trump has been reinstated as U.S. president. We know that must be true because Trump promised with absolute certainty that it would happen.

Remember the saying, “Your right to swing your fist ends at the tip of my nose?” Well for crying out loud, that came to mind when I saw an article in the Guardian, and Yahoo, and NBC and CNN. Google it: Unvaccinated teacher infected half her students with COVID, CDC finds.

Our schools unite us. They are the bedrock of our communities and are where our children grow as individuals. They are a place where kids of all backgrounds are accepted. There is no doubt that our students learn best and our educators are most effective when they are both physically inside a school.

Standing at the opposite end of life's bridge, I can look back and find a sympathetic bond with the parents who are sending little ones off to school for the first time. I, too, am sending a dear one off to be cared for by strangers, hoping that they will be kind and gentle with him.
