It was an incomplete week of sorts for the Caz Reds in Home Talent Baseball. The Reds were scheduled to compete in three league games in the span of less than 24 hours but only one of them was completed, thanks to Mother Nature.
It was another fun-filled year for Sauk Prairie’s girls’ sports teams during a stellar 2023-24 school year.
Ava Andres (tennis, basketball, soccer) and Kaya Howard (swimming, wrestling, track and field) finished their prep careers as 12-season athletes.
Sauk Prairie’s girls softball team landed three players on the all-Badger Small Conference team.
Sophomore shortstop Alayna Robertson was named second-team all-conference. Junior outfielder Thea Harpold and junior third baseman Lexi Cegielski were both named honorable mention all-conference.
Sauk Prairie’s Home Talent League team swept a doubleheader from Wisconsin Dells on Sunday.
The Twins defeated the Rivermen, 10-5, in the opener and 7-5 in the nightcap.
Sauk Prairie improved to 6-1 overall and leads the Northern Section.

The Reedsburg Pirates extended their winning streak to an impressive 7 in a row in Home Talent Baseball last Thursday, downing Mazomanie 7-4 on the road to go 7-0 in the Night League season.
Wins have been hard to come by in recent summers for the Cazenovia Reds in Home Talent Baseball action but in 2024, the Reds already have three wins and two of them have ended in a walk-off fashion, including last Thursday night in a 4-3 victory over Wisconsin Dells in Night League play in Caz.
Play in the Monday Night Men’s Golf League at the Reedsburg Country Club was able to get in this week just before storms hit the area once again.
Four teams shared first place this week, including: Cross Jenks Mercer & Maffei, MBE CPA’s, Krause Monuments and Hartje Lumber all scored 4.5 team points this week.
One year became five.
